Floral Mackinac Island Wedding

July 14, 2018

We used our Roses design for these gorgeous invitations for a wedding at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. The all script design in Bickham looks romantic with the subtle rose floral design. One of our favorite cards to design are schedule cards because they always utilize fun icons for the planned events. They're a great addition to a wedding welcome bag. Our congratulations go out to Beth and Ray!

Day of Stationery

June 18, 2018

Sometimes the "Day-of" stationery gets lost in the shuffle with wedding planning but a full suite of menus, programs and welcome cards is a great way to carry the style of the invitations through to the actual wedding day celebration.

Elegant Nantucket Wedding

June 17, 2018

Congratulations to Nina and Andrew for their Nantucket wedding this weekend! We really enjoyed working with them to come up with this beautifully soft design. The elegant calligraphy for the names and other lines of text was done by Megan Fahy. We then scanned this and added it to our design. The wave and seagulls were printed in a very pale tint of ink to keep the focus on the soft blue text.

Tinted Embossing

June 10, 2018

We're often asked about printing "blind", which means printing without any ink, so you just see the impression of an image or text. While the subtlety of a blind emboss is nice, we prefer to print a tinted emboss. These photos illustrate the soft quality of an illustration printed with transparent ink, sized with  a touch of gray ink. This small amount of ink helps to create a bit of a shadow on the paper, so that the image reads a little better, but doesn't interfere with the text.

Iconic NYC Wedding

June 8, 2018

Congratulations to Allison and Adam on their wedding last weekend! All black ink always looks sharp, especially with the graphic images they selected to illustrate the cards in the suite.

We've printed some lovely invitations for June weddings this year and are excited to share some of the designs here on the blog. This is our Roses design for a wedding and reception at the boathouse in Central Park, here in NYC. Congratulations to Joanne and Philip on their summer nuptials!

Napa Valley Wedding

June 2, 2018

Congrats to Kelley and Phillip for their recent wedding in Napa Valley! We absolutely love this design. It is simple and sweet, printed in a dusty blue with an image of a peach tree highlighting the invitation and detail card. Sometimes a simple design like this is the most striking.

Colorful Ink Swatches

May 10, 2018

We custom mix our inks for each job. Our presses are really efficient and we use less than a tablespoon of ink for a set of note cards. A little goes a long way as the inks are like a thick paste. When mixing, we start with some base colors that we combine, often with the addition of black or white to tone down the saturation.

We frequently get requests for tinted embossing. We add a drop of gray ink when we print embossings to give the imagery a bit more of a shadow. The result is subtle, and beautiful when paired with a deeper color.
